Most people think of a baton as utilitarian in appearance and function. Function yes, appearance no. These Spectrum Batons are works of art...so attractive in fact that you feel compelled to pick one up. The wood is colorful, sanded to complete smoothness, then heat-buffed for richness and brilliance. The shaft is made from carefully kiln dried birch or maple and lacquered in white. We offer them in four lengths (12 inches, 14 inches, 16 inches, and 18 inches), two handle styles (tapered and pear shaped), and six color tones. To be helpful, the ruby handles are the reddest, the cocobolo brown with flashes of orange, and the rosewood brown with black accents. Vital Statistics Baton weights are 12.3 grams for the 12" tapered and 13.0 grams for the 14" tapered. The 12" pear weighs 13.8 grams; the 14" pear is 14.5 grams. The pear shaped handle is 1.69 inches (4.29 cm) long and 2.25 inches (5.72 cm in circumference. The tapered handle2.16 inches (5.5 cm) long and 2.18 inches (5.54 cm) in circumference.
